Tip: Anna *3 gives Anna three chances.

🖼️ Photos

Add pictures of people, pets or things. Each photo takes its file's name (ava.jpg becomes "Ava") and appears in every game. Photos stay on this device and are not in share links.

Tip: start a name with an emoji, like 🍕 Pizza, for a picture without a photo.

      Ways to use this list

      • Capital quiz: spin a country and the first person to name its capital scores a point; the answers are in the list below the picker.
      • Flag sketching for a Year 4 class: spin, draw the flag from memory in coloured pencil, then compare it with an atlas.
      • Europe Day project for 9 May: press EU 27 and give each group a different member country to turn into a one-page fact file.
      • Language taster: learn to say hello and thank you in the main language of the country the wheel picks.
      • Holiday daydream: spin three times, then the family votes on which of the three countries they would visit first.

Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

      Questions people ask

How many countries are in Europe?

This wheel counts 44, following the United Nations grouping of regions, with Russia included. Six countries that cross into Asia or sit on the edge, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Cyprus, are grouped with Asia there, which is why other lists give different totals. Press Wider Europe to add all six.

Is the EU the same as Europe?

No. The European Union has 27 members, and 18 countries on the main list are not among them, including the United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland and Ukraine. Cyprus is an EU member but is grouped with Asia, so it appears in the EU 27 set only.

Why isn't Kosovo on the list?

The wheel uses the same countries as our random country generator: the UN member states plus its two observer states. Kosovo is not a UN member, so it is left out; type it on its own line if your class includes it.

Which is the biggest country in Europe, and which is the smallest?

Russia is the largest by area, and Ukraine is the largest country that lies wholly in Europe. Vatican City, surrounded by Rome, is the smallest country in Europe and in the whole world.
