Ways to use this list
- Rail trip planning: spin four cities and decide the order you would visit them by train without doubling back.
- Language starter: spin a city, find out its local language and learn to say good morning in it.
- Writing prompt: drop your characters into the city you get and describe one street, one smell and one sound.
- Capitals quiz: press Capitals, spin, and the first person to name the country wins a point.
- Mapmaking inspiration: press Small towns for real places with fairy-tale looks, then borrow the feel for a village on your own map.
Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you
like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the
chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

Questions people ask
Which European cities are included?
Seventy-one cities from 36 countries: the big capitals, famous cities that are not capitals, such as Barcelona, Milan and Munich, and smaller favourites like Bruges, Salzburg and Dubrovnik.
Is Istanbul in Europe?
Partly. Istanbul spreads across both sides of the Bosphorus strait, so it lies in Europe and in Asia, with most of its people on the European side. It is on this list for that reason, even though Türkiye is grouped with Asia on our country pages.
Can I spin only European capitals?
Press Capitals for the capitals of all 44 countries on our European country page, from Reykjavík to Valletta. For capitals worldwide, use the capital city generator.
Is there a random European town generator?
Press Small towns for 22 well-known small towns and villages, such as Hallstatt in Austria, Giethoorn in the Netherlands and Kotor in Montenegro. They make lovely settings for stories and dream trips.
Which is the largest city in Europe?
Istanbul has the most people if you count the whole city, though part of it lies in Asia. Moscow is the largest city that sits entirely within Europe.
