      Ways to use this list

      • Daily sketch: one spin, ten minutes of drawing.
      • Art class warm-up: everyone draws the same prompt and compares.
      • Drawing games: two players, one prompt, one minute.
      • Kids at home: a screen-free activity for rainy days.
      • Early finishers in grades Kโ€“3: keep scrap paper by the board, and a student who finishes early presses Easy, spins and draws until the others catch up.
      • Sketchbook habit: press Challenge once a week for a longer drawing, and Easy or Medium on the other days.

Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

      Questions people ask

      Are the drawing ideas easy?

Twelve are easy, built from circles and other simple shapes: press Easy for those. The Medium and Challenge buttons add more detail, depth and busier scenes, so the same page works for a five-year-old and an art student.

How do I draw something I have never seen, like a cat astronaut?

Break it into parts you have seen: a cat's face, a round helmet and a puffy suit. Look at a photo of each part if it helps, draw the biggest shape lightly first and add details last. The tip beside each idea in the list gives you a first shape.

How can I make a drawing idea harder?

Change the rules, not the idea: draw it from above, in one line without lifting the pencil, with your other hand, or in only three colours. A two-minute limit turns it into a game; a whole hour turns it into a finished picture.

      Can I combine two ideas?

Yes. Set Winners to 2 and draw both in one picture. "A whale in the sky" with "A bird wearing a hat" gives you a flying whale with a bird in a hat on its back.

Can I share my drawing prompt?

Press ๐Ÿ”— Share to send a link with this list, or ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Save card to share the winning prompt as a picture.
