Ways to use this list
- Drawing game: one player sketches the word in 60 seconds with no letters or numbers while their team guesses. Medium words give the fairest mix.
- Charades: act the word out in silence. Easy words like frog, sleep and kite work for children as young as five.
- Songwriting: set Winners to 3 and write a verse that uses all three words. Hard words such as echo, horizon and journey make strong song titles.
- Story chain: each person spins a word in turn and adds one sentence to a shared story that has to include it.
- Spelling warm-up: spin an Easy or Medium word, say it aloud, and the class writes it on mini whiteboards before you show the screen.
Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you
like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the
chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

Questions people ask
Which random words are best for drawing and charades?
Things you can see or do: frog, kite, lighthouse, climb. The Easy and Medium levels are mostly words like these. Hard words include ideas such as gravity and harmony, which suit older players who want a challenge.
How are the word levels chosen?
Easy words are short and familiar to most five- and six-year-olds. Medium words are longer everyday things and actions. Hard words are longer, less common or about ideas rather than objects.
Can I get several random words at once?
Yes. Set Winners in Settings to any number up to 100, and one spin gives you that many different words: handy for word association games or a three-word song challenge.
Is there a word list made just for drawing games?
Yes: drawing game words has prompts picked for guess-the-drawing games, and the random noun generator sorts nouns into people, places, animals and things.
How do you play word association with a random word?
Spin one word to start, then go round the circle: each player says the first word it brings to mind within three seconds, so frog might lead to pond, then duck. Pause too long or repeat a word and you are out, and the next person spins a fresh word.
