Ways to use this list
- Compliment circle: press Describe a person, delete grumpy and stubborn, and each pupil compliments the classmate beside them using the word they spin.
- Mystery bag: hide an object in a bag; pupils spin adjectives and ask if each one fits, such as "Is it crunchy? Is it heavy?"
- Character building: set Winners to 3 and invent a story character who is all three, for example a clumsy, fearless, polite knight.
- Upgrade a dull sentence: write "The dog ran" on the board, spin twice and rewrite it, as in "The fluffy, swift dog ran."
- Meaning quiz: spin the plain words, ask for a definition in the pupil's own words, then check it against the full list below.
Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you
like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the
chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

Questions people ask
What is an adjective?
An adjective describes a noun: it tells you what something is like. A fluffy cat, a brave firefighter, an empty box. Most adjectives can go before a noun or after words like "is" and "looks".
Can the adjective generator show a definition with each word?
Yes. Press With meanings and every slice shows the word with a short definition, such as "swift โ very fast". The plain list is better for quizzes where children explain the word themselves.
Which adjectives describe a person's personality?
Press Describe a person for 24 of them, from patient and loyal to stubborn and grumpy. Writers can use the less flattering ones too: flaws make story characters more believable.
What order do adjectives go in?
English has a natural order: opinion, size, age, shape, colour, origin, material, purpose. That is why "a lovely little old wooden box" sounds right to native speakers and "a wooden old little lovely box" sounds wrong.
