Ways to use this list
- Family drawing game: split into two teams, give the drawer one minute on paper or a whiteboard, and the team that guesses first scores a point.
- Mixed ages at one table: give children Easy words and adults Hard ones, so a seven year old and a grandparent can race each other fairly.
- Christmas party round: press Christmas for sleighs, snow globes and gingerbread houses, then let the winner of each round pick the next drawer.
- Classroom vocabulary: after a Medium round, ask pupils to write a sentence describing the lighthouse or telescope they just drew.
- Video calls: the drawer picks a word on their own phone and sketches on a shared whiteboard while everyone else types guesses.
Press Pull the lever, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you
like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the
chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a wheel, duck race, hat and more.

Questions people ask
How do I keep the drawing word secret from the guessers?
Pick the word on the drawer's phone, held so only they can see it, then pass the phone to the next drawer. On a shared screen, ask the guessers to look away for a moment while the word appears.
What makes a word hard to draw?
Ideas, actions and feelings have no single shape: gravity, echo, jet lag, pins and needles. The drawer has to show a little scene or a clue, which is why Hard words make grown-ups laugh the most.
Which drawing words suit young children?
Objects a five year old already draws: cat, sun, house, fish, rainbow, kite. Press Easy for thirty of them, and let young players draw with a grown-up whispering hints if they get stuck.
How long should each drawing round last?
One minute is the usual limit. Give young children ninety seconds and Hard words up to two minutes, and use a kitchen timer or a phone so the drawer can see the time running out.
