      Ways to use this list

      • Breakfast research: spin a country, find out what people there often eat in the morning, and compare it with yours.
      • Script spotting: spin and find out which writing system the main language uses, from Korean Hangul to Thai or Arabic script.
      • Map quiz for older students: name the capital and two neighbouring countries before the next spin.
      • Route planner: spin three countries and plan a journey between them by train, ferry or plane, in the shortest order.
      • Class presentations: give each student a country with Remove the winner on, so two classes cover all 48 between them.

Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

      Questions people ask

How many countries are in Asia?

This wheel counts 48, using the United Nations grouping of regions, the same set as our other country pages. It includes countries that cross into Europe or sit on its edge, such as Tรผrkiye, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Cyprus. Places that are not UN members or observer states are left out; type them in if you want them.

Why isn't Russia on the Asia wheel?

Most of Russia's land is in Asia, but its capital and most of its people are in Europe, so the UN groups it with Europe and so do we. It is on the random European country generator; add it here on one line if your class counts it as Asian.

Which countries count as South Asia and East Asia?

East Asia here is China, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea and South Korea. South Asia follows the UN grouping, so besides India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Afghanistan it also includes Iran, which many people think of as part of the Middle East.

Which is the largest country in Asia?

On this list it is China by area. India has the most people, having passed China in 2023, and the Maldives is the smallest Asian country by area, a chain of islands with a total land area smaller than many cities.
