      Ways to use this list

      • Toddler mornings: spin a short activity every 20 minutes or so, with Remove the winner on, so the same game doesn't come back before lunch.
      • School holidays: write the spin on a whiteboard as "today's plan", then add one calm activity after lunch so everyone gets a rest.
      • Wet playtime at school: put the class names on the classroom name picker and let the chosen pupil spin the activity for the room.
      • Going out anyway: Places to go lists covered spots. Check times and booking first, because pools and soft play fill up fast on wet days.
      • A slow wet Sunday for grown-ups: press Adults for cosy jobs and hobbies, from a big jigsaw to a pot of soup.

Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

      Questions people ask

What can toddlers do on a rainy day?

Short, hands-on play works best: a pots and pans band, a cushion mountain, stickers, stacking cups or hunting for a hidden toy. Swap every 15 to 20 minutes, and stay close for anything with water or small pieces.

What are good rainy day activities for adults?

Rain is a good excuse for the slow things you keep putting off: a long book, a recipe that simmers all afternoon, one cupboard sorted, a big jigsaw, or writing cards to friends. Press Adults to spin only those.

How do I keep kids busy all day when it rains?

Alternate lively and calm: spin an active idea such as the obstacle course, then a quiet one such as the comic or the jigsaw. Plan one outing if you can, even a library visit, because a change of scene resets everyone's mood.

Is it fine for kids to play outside in the rain?

Usually, yes. With waterproofs and warm layers, puddle jumping and rain walks are great fun, and kids can check their rain gauge afterwards. Come straight inside if there is thunder or lightning.
