Ways to use this list
- First week of school: each child draws a card at morning circle, answers it, then chooses the classmate who draws next.
- Dinner table: one card each instead of "How was school?", which tends to get a one-word answer.
- Waiting rooms and queues: read a card aloud and let every child have a go before you draw the next one.
- A meet-the-class display: each pupil draws three questions and writes the answers beside a self-portrait.
- Shy children often find a card easier to answer than a grown-up's direct question, so let them draw their own.
Press Draw a card, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you
like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the
chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a wheel, duck race, hat and more.

Questions people ask
What are good get-to-know-you questions for kids?
Open questions about things children know well: pets, games, food, friends and what they would invent. Leave out anything with a right answer, or about money, looks or test scores, so every child can answer happily.
Can I spin these questions on a wheel?
Yes. The game buttons above the picker move the same questions onto the wheel, the slot machine or any of the games. The card draw is the default because long questions are easier to read on a card.
What age are these questions for?
Most suit ages 5 to 12. Younger children may need a grown-up to read the card; older ones can answer in a sentence or two and then ask a follow-up question of their own.
How do I turn the questions into a game?
Pass a soft toy around while music plays. When the music stops, whoever holds the toy draws a card and answers, then restarts the music for the next round.
