Ways to use this list
- Quiz nights: each team spins for its name and writes it on the answer sheet before round one. Press Quiz night to keep every name on a trivia theme.
- Classrooms: split groups with the team generator, then spin a Kids and class name for each, so groups are called by name, not number.
- Sports days and tournaments: the Sports button pairs a colour or a creature with a punchy word, giving every squad a name that is easy to chant.
- Work: name project teams or hackathon groups with the Work button, where Deadline Dodgers and the Spreadsheet Squad usually raise a laugh.
- Camps and youth clubs: name cabins or patrols from the Animals list, and ask each group to draw a mascot to match on the first day.
Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you
like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the
chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

Questions people ask
Can each team get a different name?
Yes. Spin once per team: No repeats until everyone is picked is on from the start, so a name that has been handed out won't come round again. Or set Winners to the number of teams and get every name in one spin.
Are the names family-friendly?
Yes. They are puns and animal names like the Quizzly Bears and Ninja Narwhals, with nothing rude or mocking, so they suit a school quiz, a family party or the office.
Can I split people into teams too?
Yes. Paste your players into the random team generator, which splits them into fair teams and can label them with colours or animals. Come back here when you want names with a bit more personality.
What makes a good team name?
It is short enough to shout, two or three words at most, and easy to spell on a scoresheet. Alliteration, as in Turbo Tigers, makes a name stick, and a pun on the event, like the Quizzly Bears at a quiz, usually earns a cheer.
How can a team choose its name fairly?
Set Winners to 3, spin once and let the team vote on the three names that come up. Everyone gets a say, and the shortlist stops the argument before it starts.
