Tip: Anna *3 gives Anna three chances.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Photos

Add pictures of people, pets or things. Each photo takes its file's name (ava.jpg becomes "Ava") and appears in every game. Photos stay on this device and are not in share links.

Tip: start a name with an emoji, like ๐Ÿ• Pizza, for a picture without a photo.

Add this picker to a class website, blog, Google Sites or school portal: copy the code and paste it where HTML is allowed. It opens with the game you have chosen now.

      Ways to use this list

      • Writers: name the people who appear for one scene, like the cafรฉ owner or the new neighbour, so the draft keeps moving instead of stalling on a name.
      • Maths word problems: "Priya Nair buys 3 notebooks at 45p each" reads better than "a girl buys", and the class hears names from more than one culture.
      • Game masters: keep the page open during a session and spin whenever the players ask the guard, the ferryman or the stranger at the inn for a name.
      • Practice data: fill a sample spreadsheet, a mock register or a test sign-up form with names that look real but belong to nobody in particular.
      • Language lessons: each student spins a name and introduces that person to a partner: "This is Kofi Adjei. He lives in Leeds and he likes chess."

Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the chance. The game buttons switch the same list to a duck race, hat, claw machine and more.

      Questions people ask

Are these the names of real people?

They are ordinary first names and surnames paired up for this list, not anyone famous. With so many people in the world, someone will share almost any name, so search quickly before printing one in a book.

Can I get just a first name or just a surname?

Yes. For first names, the girl name generator and the boy name page each have over 60 popular names. For surnames alone, try the last name generator, which shows where each one comes from.

How do I make a whole cast list in one go?

Open Settings and raise Winners to the number of characters you need, up to 100. One spin then hands you that many different full names, already in a random order.

Is there a version with names for fantasy role-playing games?

Yes: the fantasy name generator has invented names for heroes, wizards and wanderers. None is borrowed from a book or a game, so your table can use them freely.
