- Percent of a number: press that button, spin "25% of 60" and work it out without a calculator.
- Fractions and decimals: spin a percentage and write it both ways, so 75% becomes 3/4 and 0.75.
- Estimation: spin a percentage, then shade that much of a 10 ร 10 grid or fill a clear cup to that level.
- Quiz bonus: the winning team spins a percentage and receives that share of 100 bonus points.
- Prize wheel with real odds: weight the slices so a sticker has a 70% chance and the big prize only 10%.
- Probability check: type Yes *3 and No *7, spin 50 times and see how close the tally comes to 30% and 70%.
Press Spin the wheel, tap the game or press the Space bar. Change the list in the box as you
like: add your own, delete what doesn't suit you, or write *2 after an entry to give it double the

Questions people ask
How do I make a wheel with percentage chances?
Use weights. Write each option with a star and its share: Sticker *7, Pencil *2 and Book *1 give 70%, 20% and 10% chances, and each slice grows to match its share.
Can weights be exact percentages like 35%?
Yes. Make the stars add up to 100, for example Red *35, Blue *50 and Green *15. Each option's number is then its exact percentage chance.
Is each percentage on the wheel equally likely?
Yes. On the plain lists every entry has the same chance, so with Every 10% each of the 11 values comes up about 9% of the time. Only weights change the odds, not the numbers written on the slices.
How do I work out a percentage of a number?
Divide by 100 and multiply by the percentage, or use shortcuts: 10% is a tenth, 50% is half and 25% is a quarter. So 30% of 50 is three lots of 5, which makes 15.
How do I turn a percentage into a fraction?
Write it over 100 and simplify. 35% is 35/100, and dividing both numbers by 5 gives 7/20. For a decimal, move the point two places to the left, so 35% becomes 0.35.
What is the difference between a percentage and percentage points?
If a chance rises from 10% to 15%, it has gone up by 5 percentage points, but by 50% of what it was. The two are easy to confuse, which makes this a good puzzle for older pupils.
